📣 Join Us in Celebrating the CICADA Center — West Virginia’s First Reproductive Freedom Resource Center!We are incredibly excited to announce the opening of the CICADA Center, a first-of-its-kind space in West Virginia dedicated to reproductive freedom, community care and support without judgment. WV FREE is honored to be partnering with St. John’s Episcopal Church of Charleston, a parish known for its longtime commitment to reproductive rights, to launch this brick-and-mortar program.
The CICADA (Compassionate*Informed*Caring*Accessible*Dignified*Autonomous) Center will offer:
✨ Free menstrual products, pregnancy tests, diapers, formula, baby supplies, pregnancy and bodily autonomy resources
✨ Compassionate reproductive information and referrals
✨ A safe, stigma-free environment for people to get support
✨ Trainings, community education, and reproductive justice programming
✨ A welcoming space where people can access resources with dignity
While we will have a partially stocked center on opening day, we’re asking our community to come together and donate menstrual products, pregnancy and baby supplies, self-care essentials, and other items that help our neighbors care for themselves and their families.
🌟 As a thank-you, everyone who brings a donation will receive a meal ticket for a free brunch and juice bar, provided by Chef Jesse Lyons, Bren Pomponio and Lisa Smith at Mountain Juice!
We’ll also be hosting a silent auction to benefit the CICADA Center and help us sustain this vital work long-term. Enjoy community connection and a chance to learn more about the vision behind this powerful new resource.
