About this Event
Join us in Glasgow's historic cathedral to share in the brightness, power, and excitment of the Christmas story. This event lasts just over an hour, and will offer you inspiration and space for meditation—a perfect escape on the first weekend of the new year, as we adjust to normal life again after the Christmas season.
Performing this iconic piece by Olivier Messiaen is organist James Thomas, who has previously held posts at several cathedrals including Chichester, Blackburn and St Edmunsbury. He has given 30 performances of La Nativité so far and, having studied in France, brings a wonderfully authentic flavour to this famous exploration of the Christmas story.
James has very kindly waived his fee, and this event will therefore allow us to raise money for our organ fund—supporting a huge range of high-quality organ music all year round. Suggested donation: £5

Free parking will be available in the Cathedral Precinct during this event, and please let us know in advance if you have any specific access needs. There will be toilet facilities (including accessible) available in the St Mungo Museum throughout the peformance.
