Christmas Lino Cutting Workshop: Fiona Edmondson

Fiona will be introducing safe lino cutting and printing techniques, guiding you through the process to create a design on a festive theme, producing your own print suitable for greetings cards, gift tags and wrapping. The cost of the activity will include a lino cutter with a selection of blades and 2 lino tiles so that you will be able to continue to explore this exciting technique. Inks, rollers, paper and bench hooks will be provided.

This activity is suitable for beginners and those who may also have some experience with lino printing.

Fiona Edmondson is an experienced printmaker and Artist Educator. Originally studying Fine Art painting, she has for many years been fascinated by the qualities and variety of printmaking processes, including etching, Gelli, Lino and collograph printing in her current work.

Visual resources will be provided, but you may also wish to bring along some images of your own to help with design ideas.

Calder Arts will supply the lino cutter handle plus 5 blades as well as two pieces of soft cut lino 150 x 100mm. These are yours to keep after the event as well.

Minimum numbers apply for courses to run. Payment is due in full at the time of booking, either through the shop, phone or online. All sales are final unless transferring to another class in which a price difference will be paid. Full refunds will be given if the courses cannot take place. If you cannot make the classes for any reason no refunds will be given. We will allow the cost of tickets to be transferred to an alternative workshop (if space is available) but this request must be made at least 30 days before the start of the event you wish to transfer from, in such circumstances please give us a call at Calder Art Supplies 01484 422991.

Refreshments are available all day (tea, coffee, biscuits etc.) and there will be a lunch break of approximately one hour.

There are plenty of local shops and cafes in the area within close walking distance from the arcade.

Alternatively, you may bring your own lunch.

There is lift access to the studio on the second floor for those with mobility issues. Toilets are located close by on the studio level, however there is a small flight of stairs to access these. Alternatively, there are also toilets located on one level on the ground floor.

The nearest car park available to the venue is the multi-storey next to Huddersfield bus station. Levels 4, 5 & 6 - Monday to Saturday (8am to 6 pm)

£6.50 up to 6 pm.

After 6pm £1.60 per visit
