Kirklees FREE Adult cycle training: Beginners and Improvers

The cycle training programme aims to enable more people to travel by bike. It is delivered as part of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s cycling and walking programme, @CityConnect1 @cyclecityconnect in partnership with local authorities and local delivery partners, including Colne Valley Cycle Therapy CIC, in Huddersfield.

Sessions are available to all adults aged 16+. You can choose to use your own bike, or one will be provided for you.

Our Sunday sessions are run by two qualified instructors and are suitable for:

Beginners – Learn how to ride for the first time. These traffic-free sessions are held in places like car parks and local towpaths and greenways. Learn how to balance and glide, then progress to pedalling and turning corners.

Improvers – Develop your cycling skills and confidence. If you can already ride, we can help you develop your skills to include signalling, riding along narrow paths and even how to ride on road in traffic. These sessions take place in traffic free environments and quiet roads around Leeds Rd Sports Complex.

All we ask if that if you can't attend a session, please come back to Eventbrite and cancel your place. We always have a waiting list of people wanting to attend. Our funding depends on people turning up, so without you, we won't be able to continue.
