Help build a garden for the Christie Pits Sacred Fire!Join Cree Firekeeper Johnny Moore and the Christie Pits Every Child Matters Sacred Fire community to create pollinator and medicinal gardens to grow our space for honoring and healing the lost children and survivors of residential schools, colonialism and ongoing trauma.
In building these gardens we are building community resilience and reconciliation to confront climate change, biodiversity loss and ongoing genocide.
June 13, 2PM-6PM: Garden Building
We will be building the gardens!
Bring: willingness to do some work + shovels if you have them
All ages drop-in
June 14, 3PM-6PM: Community Planting & Ceremony with Indigenous Drummers, Singers, Foods etc.
Location: Every Child Matters Sacred Fire,
South-west corner of the park
Close to Bloor St. just west of Banjaras!
We will be planting pollinator & medicinal gardens
With ceremony, drumming, food and vendors!
All ages drop-in
Bring: Family and Friends, trowels (if you have them!)
