Christians at Newcastle Pride 2026.
Pre-march Prayer Service.
Saturday 25 July.
9.30 for a 10am service followed by refreshments and time to meet with one another.
St James’s Church. NE1 8JF
All are welcome to join us to pray together before the Newcastle Pride march.
This is an ecumenical service and all are welcome.
We will be joining the Pride march after the service and all are welcome to join us, but you can also just come to the service.
Please do share any other events you might be planning etc as well so we can share events and LGBT+ inclusive communities.

Saturday 25 July
Gather at 9.30 at St James’s for a prayer service at 10am followed by refreshments and then those who wish to will be joining the march.
March sets off at 12 noon from the Civic Centre. Newcastle Pride March.
Various Christian groups will be marching, join us at the civic or after the prayer service.
Sunday 26 July 6.30pm
Northern Lights MCC Sunday worship. St James's and YouTube Sunday worship with an open communion table followed by refreshments.
Sunday 26th July. 9pm (after last act on main stage)
Pride Vigil. Pride Main Stage, Pride Arena, Times Square.
The inclusive final event on the Northern Pride mainstage is a candlelit vigil,a moment to pause and reflect as a community hosted by Northern Lights MCC (no ticket required if you are only attending the vigil).

Newcastle Cathedral and the Church of England Diocese of Newcastle’s LGBTQI+ Chaplaincy have a number of events (more detail here - https://newcastlecathedral.org.uk/pride/ )
Pride Prayer Trail: You are warmly invited to explore a reflective trail around the Cathedral (1–26 July), co-created with Newcastle Diocese’s LGBTQI+ Chaplaincy. It offers space for contemplation, reflection, and deeper understanding in the lead-up to and during Newcastle Pride.
The Cathedral is open as a Sacred Quiet Space with LGBTQI+ Chaplains on 25th July 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm for reflection, prayer and stillness within the celebrations.
Northern Proud Voices (the North East’s largest and only LGBTQ+ and allies choir) are celebrating their 15th anniversary with a concert at Newcastle Cathedral on 15th July.
Proud Catholics, a support group for and run by Catholics in the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle, who identify as LGBT+ or who are questioning their sexual or gender identity, have a meeting on 21st July at 7pm (details TBC) - https://www.proudcatholics.co.uk
