The Tiangong Space Station: A Look at China’s Heavenly Palace
Presented by Dr. Drew Young
China’s space program has made major advances over the past two decades, from landing spacecraft on the Moon and Mars to launching human space flight missions. This presentation explores China’s most recent milestone, the Tiangong Space Station, often described as a Palace in the Sky, and its development as China’s counterpart to the International Space Station.
Presentation length: approximately 20–25 minutes
Discovery Center activities will be available throughout the evening, making this a family friendly program for all ages. Additional details will be shared as the event approaches.
Special thanks to Walmart Spark Good and Oriental Trading for their support of this program.
In celebration of the Year of the Horse, visitors may also be interested in The Horse in Context, on view January 26–February 26, 2026 at the Mildred Zahradnicek Gallery in the Music Building on the Casper College campus. This exhibition examines the horse as a symbol across cultures and time, and includes works from The Nicolaysen Art Museum’s permanent collection alongside loans from regional and national partners.
Free and open to the public.
