Chinese Brush Painting Workshop
About this Event
Guided by experienced instructors from MoStudio, you’ll learn the foundational techniques of Chinese brush painting, including how to hold and control the brush, work with ink and water, create expressive strokes, and explore the balance between movement, space, and composition.

About MoStudio
MoStudio began more than twenty years ago in Anhui, China—the birthplace of Xuan paper and a region deeply connected to the tradition of Chinese ink art.
What began as a small local studio has grown into a welcoming creative space where people of all ages can experience the quiet beauty of brush, ink, and traditional pigments.
Over the years, MoStudio has taught children, adults, and elders and shared its work through exhibitions and cultural events around the world. Through this journey, the studio has come to see Chinese calligraphy and brush painting as more than art forms. They can also be practices of slowing down, breathing deeply, and reconnecting with oneself through the natural movement of water and ink.
In 2025, MoStudio opened its doors in the San Francisco Bay Area, beginning a new chapter while continuing the traditions at the heart of its work.
Today, MoStudio brings these traditions to a new community—preserving the art of Chinese calligraphy and brush painting while building connections across cultures through creativity and shared experience.
