Info: CBK Primary Competencies and PD Planning Tool for Early Childhood Leaders
The Core Body of Knowledge and companion tools provide the NYS workforce with shared knowledge, skills, and practices for the workforce. This session includes an overview of these tools and their intended use. Participants will receive an opportunity to explore the Primary Competencies and practice using the PD Planning Tool. Participants will leave with an increased understanding of these tools and the benefits of their use.

Practice coaching techniques live in a group! Supervisors and directors will explore techniques that support on-the-job staff growth and development in this workshop. School-age programs are navigating an ever-changing landscape of regulations, professional development needs, staffing challenges, and quality improvement. This session will provide administrators with an overview of the support and resources available through the New York State Network for Youth Success.
We’ll explore the Network’s professional development opportunities, School-Age Care Credential support, technical assistance, resources, and other benefits available to Network members. We’ll also take a closer look at the emerging Quality Stars work in New York State and what it may mean for school-age programs as the system develops.
Participants will leave with a better understanding of the resources available to support their programs, their staff, and their ongoing commitment to quality.
