Healthy Capital District is offering courses for provisional certification for the role of Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA)! We support you through the entire process and are dedicated to your success!! Unlike other programs, we provide THREE MONTHS of support after course completion! From completing foundational training to submitting a completed application, we are here for you!

Upon receiving your CRPA-P, you are immediately Medicaid-billable through an OASAS-licensed entity!


T o qualify for CRPA certification you must:

  • Have history of a substance use disorder, be someone who has personal or family experience with substance use disorder (SUD), and/or who is passionate about supporting someone in their recovery from a SUD
  • Be willing to share your recovery from that condition/event (if applicable)
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent


After submitting your interest, you will be contacted regarding potential scholarship options. Registration via Eventbrite does not guarantee a seat. Classes are kept small and registrants are required to respond to outreach and confirm participation.


CRPA-P Course Schedule: Classes start November 2, 2026 and conclude November 13, 2026, 9am-4pm. Classes are held on every day, Monday-Friday. Classes from November 2-6 focus on the Recovery Coach Academy; Nov 9 class focuses on Medic*tion Supported Recovery; no class Nov 10th; and classes from Nov 11-13 focus on Ethics.

Instructor: Katrina Fox , CRPA, CARC, RCP, RCPF

Katrina Fox-Marshall is an ASAP NYCB trainer for Certified Recovery Peer Advocates (CRPAs) and Certified Addiction Recovery Coaches (CARCs), as well as a Best Practice Trainer. Katrina holds certifications as a CRPA, CARC, and Recovery Coach Professional (RCP) and a Recovery Coach Professional Facilitator (RCPF). Currently Katrina provides the required training hours for CPDP participants, also offering monthly mini workshops and professional presentations to organizations interested in utilizing certified peers. She is the author of Addictive Thinking, a manual she presents to agencies and probation departments throughout her community. Her expertise and lived experience have earned her the opportunity to present at the New York State Probation Officer Association Conference for two consecutive years, with attending this year for a 3rd year with a new training to present. Katrina is well known as an expert and leader in the peer field.
