CHIKA 地下 — A Hidden Tasting Experience Above Edison's Pizza Kitchen.
Tucked away above Edison's Pizza Kitchen, behind a hidden door, Chika (地下 — Japanese for “underground”) is an intimate 10-seat chef’s counter inspired by Tokyo’s late-night dining culture.
Guests enter through Edison's Pizza and are quietly led upstairs into a dimly lit, candlelit space—where deep reds, good music, and a little bit of chaos set the tone for the evening.
This is not a traditional omakase.
This is a more relaxed, more social, and more unexpected take on a chef’s tasting experience—blending high-quality seafood, Japanese technique, and a neighborhood energy that is distinctly Tremont.
THE EXPERIENCE
Each evening features a 12-course, chef-selected tasting led by Chef Ryan Endrian and Kwan San of Kyuu Juu, known throughout Cleveland for their creative Japanese pop-ups and exceptional ingredient sourcing.

THE SPACE
Chika lives inside the former Lava Lounge—reimagined, but still carrying the energy of the past 25 years.
After your meal, you’re welcome to linger in the upstairs lounge for cocktails, sake, or beer. Arrive early or stay late—the space is meant to be enjoyed.
