Chicago River Exploration day
About this Event
City Kids Outdoors and Friends of the Forest Preserves invite you to spend a summer morning exploring the wonders of the creek at Labagh Woods!
We'll begin our adventure by learning about Gyotaku, a traditional Japanese fish printing art form, and creating your own nature print to take home. Then we'll head to the creek for a hands-on nature play experience where families can wade into the water, use dip nets and bug catchers to discover aquatic insects and other fascinating creek critters, and enjoy the simple joy of exploring together.
This family-friendly program is designed to spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and help children build a lasting connection with nature through play and discovery. Whether you're searching for tiny creek creatures, making observations, or simply splashing in the water, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
