Chicago Media Fair

Join the Chicago Headline Club for a Chicago media fair Friday, October 11 hosted at DePaul University, in partnership with the DePaul chapter of SPJ. Whether you are about to graduate or have several years of professional experience, this career fair will connect you with some of Chicago’s newsroom leaders who are actively hiring or accepting pitches — and provide you with tangible resources for your job search.

At 1 p.m., we’ll kick things off with a guided networking session with newsroom leaders and reporters. The job fair will begin at 1:30 p.m. Light refreshments and beverages will be served. RSVP is required.

RSVP to save your spot, sign up to join the networking session, get your resume reviewed or have a headshot taken ($5 donation suggested). We have limited spots for each!

1 to 1:45 p.m. | Guided networking session (RSVP required, limited spots)

We’ll begin the session with a brief panel conversation with newsroom leaders to introduce themselves. Then, we’ll break out into small groups — each table with a different newsroom leader. Guests can join a table for a brief Q&A session with the speaker, learning about their paths in journalism and career advice they have for attendees. We’lll rotate tables once attendees can talk with another speaker.
