About this Event

Creating Space 4 Creative Healing Inc(CS4CH Inc) is FREE Poetry Writing Workshop and Open Mic held every 4th Monday of the month at Douglas Branch Library. Hosted by Founder of CS4CH Inc, Spoken Word Artist and Self-published Author of About That Time poetry book, Audacious Don.



Poetry Writing Workshop begins at 4pm; Poetry Open Mic begins at 5:30pm (Sign up starts @ 5pm).

  • November: " Big Faith!" ( Learning how to replace fear with faith; Understand the meaning of faith)

Past Monthly Themes:
  • February: "Bring Your Cup!" (Building creative writing skills about Self-care; Writing about how we take care of ourselves (mentally, physically, etc.); Mention Self-care tips
  • M arch: "Check-in!" (Building creative writing skills about Mindfulness & Accountability; Venting through poetry to create inspiring pieces; Remember NOT to force it (creativity comes naturally)
  • A pril: "Taking L's!" (Learning how to face the fear of failure; write about that emotion that comes up; educate about the business aspect of poetry and spoken word entertainment field)
  • May: "Communication Is Key!" (Learning how to actively listen, truly apologize, and how to have assertive communication; learning “fair fighting” rules)
  • June: "It Starts At Home! (Home is where the Heart is)" ( Building higher self-esteem and confidence; gratitude activity worksheets; learning how to stop the overwhelming negative self-talk)
  • July: Postponed
  • August: “Good Grief!” (Learning the 7 stages of grief; how to sympathize for others in grief in a healthy manner; accepting it's OK to not be OK)
  • September: “Drive Me Crazy! “ (Turning anger into drive/motivation; Learn definition of self-sabotage; “Definition of crazy: Doing the same thing expecting different results”)
  • October: “Back At Square One!” (Feel your feelings; Be honest with oneself ; Get to the root of things)

At CS4CH, we learn and apply the inner work needed then express through spoken word. CS4CH Inc is founded by event coordinator, Self-published Author & Spoken Word Artist Audacious Don. Donations help provide funds for raffle giveaways held at our monthly workshops, resources needed for supplies for each theme and helps CS4CH travel to new locations to host our Poetry Writing Workshop and Open Mic.
