The Centre for Health Equity and Sustainable Societies (CHESS) at the University of East London invites you to its first public lecture, featuring Dr Jason Strelitz, now Assistant Director at the Health Foundation. Dr Strelitz will discuss his new book: “Same Storm, Different Boots: Covid, Community and How We Come Together”.

With 25 years’ experience in social policy, public health, and tackling inequalities, Dr Strelitz led Newham’s public health response through the Covid-19 pandemic. His book offers a personal account of that period, focusing on inequality and the way it impacted every aspect of the pandemic experience, and the strength when the state and community work hand in hand. The book has been endorsed by Professor Sir Michael Marmot, Director of the UCL Institute of Health Equity.
