Those auditioning will perform cold reads from the script with other actors.

Tuesday & Wednesday evenings (6:30-8:30pm) and Saturday afternoons (2-4pm) with minor
changes possible.
PLAY SYNOPSIS:
Chemical Imbalance is a comic retelling of the classic story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. Dr. Jekyll’s research finds him investigating the split between good and evil in the human psyche. Of course, things get out of hand when he decides being evil might be more fun and recreational. As Jekyll's family tries to marry him off to an eligible young lady, he wreaks havoc both on London and his household – with humorous results.
CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
All characters speak with a British accent unless otherwise noted in description. Physical
comedy is required by most characters.
MALE ROLES:
Henry Jekyll/Mr. Hyde (20-40) - Scientist with a dual personality. [Physical comedy and fight choreography required]
Xavier Utterson (20-40) - Cousin to Henry and Ambrosia. Henry's confidant. [EXTREME physical comedy and fight choreography required]
Police Lieutenant (30+) - The Constable’s commanding officer. [Fight choreography required]
Constable (25+) – Awkward and dense police officer. Irish accent
FEMALE ROLES:
Euphronia Jekyll (40+) - Mother to Henry and Ambrosia Jekyll. Matriarch to the family and always concerned of social class. [Screaming required]
Ambrosia Jekyll (20-35) - Henry's bossy younger sister. Anxious for Henry to marry.
Lady Throckmortonshire (40+) - A snobbish grande dame. Mother to Penelope and Calliope. [Physical comedy/pratfalls required]
Calliope & Penelope Throckmortonshire - Twin daughters of Lady Throckmortonshire with opposite personalities - played by the same actress. [Actress must be able to portray an 8 to 10 year-old girl. Physical comedy required]
Rosamunda Dewthistle (20-30) - Eligible young lady with her eye on Henry. [Screaming required]
Ivy (20+) – Fumbling, high strung maid. British OR Cockney accent. [Must be comfortable with physical comedy/pratfalls, and screaming]
Plodgett (30+) – Frantic cook. British, Scottish, OR Cockney accent. [Either gender]
