Cheesman Park Walking Tour with History On Tap Colorado
About this Event
After a short summer break, History On Tap is getting back together to explore another historic Denver neighborhood.
We'll start with a drink and some catching up at Wild Corgi Pub at 5:00, then head out at 6:30 for a 75-minute walk led by Robert Ehmann of Historic Denver.
Cheesman Park has one of the stranger histories in the city. It began as Denver's oldest cemetery and was transformed into a park between 1898 and 1910, during the era when Mayor Speer was building out Denver's landmark park system. Robert will cover how that change happened and lead us through part of the neighboring Humboldt Street Historic District, one of the best-preserved residential blocks in the city.
Here's how the evening runs:
- 5:00 PM — Meet up and drinks at Wild Corgi Pub
- 6:30 PM — Walking tour begins
- 7:45 PM — Tour wraps
Cost is $20, and all proceeds go directly to Historic Denver as a donation to support their work. Space is limited, so sign up ahead of time to hold your spot.
