Simpsons Special Care Babies (SSCB) is a small volunteer-run charity based in Edinburgh and dedicated to the care of premature or sick newborn babies in the Simpson Neonatal Unit at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Most of our trustees have had a child (or children) looked after in the UnitOn Christmas Eve 2024 my Grandson Danny was born. Danny had Meconium aspiration syndrome which occurs when a newborn inhales a mixture of amniotic fluid and meconium, the early stool passed by a newborn.
The following weeks were a living nightmare for us not knowing as each hour passed if our precious boy would manage to pull through. This horrific time was only made slightly easier by seeing the absolute care and genuine love he was shown by the neonatal team in Simpsons Edinburgh.
As a family we saw how hard the team worked not only with the babies but with the parents of these babies and extended families.
Danny is thriving and for this we cannot thank them enough.
So we're holding this charity night to raise some much needed funds so they can continue to support families whose babies need extra care.
This promises to be a great night with lots of opportunity to win prizes and dance the night away to live music from band Milestone.
Tickets £12 each, available here:

We look forward to seeing you for a great night!
