What is Champeta?
Champeta, also known as terapia, is a lively music and dance genre that originated on the Caribbean coast of Colombia in the early 1980s. Rooted in Afro-Colombian culture, Champeta evolved from an earlier style known as chalusonga, which came from San Basilio de Palenque. Today, it is celebrated for its infectious beats, expressive movements, and joyful spirit.
