Wellbeing Forum: Supporting Carers in the Workplace

This forum will explore the growing reality of working carers in the UK where around 5 million people are balancing employment with unpaid care and the significant impact this has on businesses, productivity and workforce retention.

It will examine the hidden nature of caring, with many employees not identifying themselves despite the pressures they face, and the wider implications for employers as increasing numbers reduce hours or leave work altogether.

We will also be joined by Carers Trust and Carers Cloud, bringing both national insight and practical, personalised support perspectives.

What will be covered:

• How carers can navigate complex care decisions
• The Care Act and the Carer’s Assessment
• Access to tailored support, coaching and resources to build resilience
• The ROI of early carer identification and supporting care alongside work

Alongside this, the forum will explore the employment gap for disabled people in Wales and the opportunity for organisations to take practical, inclusive action creating workplaces that not only support working carers but also attract, retain and enable a wider, more diverse talent pool.
