Chai, Politics & Conversations with Tom Emmer

Join us for Chai, Politics & Conversations, an evening with Congressman Tom Emmer, one of the most senior leaders in the United States Congress. Congressman Emmer has represented Minnesota's 6th Congressional District since 2015 and serves as the House Majority Whip, the third highest ranking position in the U.S. House of Representatives. In simple terms, the Whip is the person responsible for gathering the votes needed to pass laws, which means very few major bills move through Congress without his involvement. He also serves on the House Financial Services Committee, which oversees banks, lending, and the financial system. Before going to Washington, he was a practicing attorney and served in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Decisions made in Congress matter more to business owners than most people realize: federal taxes, access to loans and capital, trade between the United States and India, and immigration and work visa policies are all shaped in Washington. Over chai and conversation, you will have the chance to hear directly from Congressman Emmer and ask your own questions in an open, respectful setting. Come with your questions. Come with your concerns. This is your seat at the table.
