RETOUCH (2017)
A woman witnesses a fatal accident involving her husband. Fully aware of what is happening, she makes a conscious decision not to help and simply watches the event reach its end.
Retouch has won over 90 international awards, screened at more than 200 festivals worldwide, and is considered one of the most successful Iranian short films ever. It was Iran’s official submission to the 2018 Academy Awards.
FUNFAIR (2019)
A family living under severe economic pressure decides to risk their own lives to escape poverty, gambling with survival in hopes of financial relief.
Funfair received multiple international awards and was Iran’s official submission to the 2020 Academy Awards.
A REPORT ABOUT MINA (2015)
A quiet portrait of everyday life, following Mina, a homeless woman living on the margins of Tehran. She spends much of the year—nearly thirty percent of her days—in a corner of a public park in a deprived area of the city.

Kaveh Mazaheri is an Iranian filmmaker known for his distinctive narrative style that blurs the line between realism and psychological exploration. He directed several acclaimed short films and documentaries, including Retouch, which received numerous prestigious awards, among them five Academy Award-qualifying prizes from the Tribeca, Krakow, Stockholm, Tirana, and Palm Springs Film Festivals. In 2020, his debut feature film 'Botox' premiered at the Torino Film Festival where it won Best Film and Best Screenplay. His work often focuses on the silent struggles of individuals within restrictive environments, combining visual restraint with profound emotional depth. Based in France, Mazaheri continues to develop projects that merge fiction, documentary, and new media forms.
Kaveh Mazaheri is an Artist Protection Fund Fellow in residence at the Institute for Advanced Study at CEU in Budapest.
