Pesticide Safety, Florida Regulations, and Environmental Protection
Participants will learn how to safely handle, mix, apply, store, and transport pesticides while complying with Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) regulations. Topics include personal protective equipment (PPE), preventing pesticide exposure, spill response, environmental hazards, and protecting Florida's water resources through proper application practices. Emphasis will be placed on the applicator's legal responsibilities and the importance of following pesticide labels. Participants will also learn about plant nutrition and proper fertilization.
