The West Virginia District will be hosting a “Lay Ministry Academy” September 16 – 20, at Revelation Fellowship GMC!
The courses will be taught by a variety of instructors; everyone is welcome to the opening worship service on Monday evening, whether taking courses or not. An individual attending the full week would be able to complete the 5 required basic courses for CLM and would subsequently only need to complete one additional specialty course. (Our District team is beginning to work on plans for a shorter spring academy during which 2 or 3 specialty courses will be offered in the district during Spring 2026). While we envision students being able to use this academy to work through all 5 required courses in one week, we certainly welcome and encourage students who need less than all 5 to sign up for just the course or courses they need.
Cost: Registration fee is $30 per course, capped at a total of $90 for the week per student (ie: 4th and 5th courses are free)
Lunch will be provided on-site each day by one of the District churches.

The schedule will be as follows:
*September 15, 7:00 PM – Opening Worship service with communion. P.E Daniel Fulton preaching. (open to anyone, pre registration not required, location for the opening service may be one of the other Parkersburg area GMCs, yet to be confirmed)
*September 16, 8:30 – 4:30 PM History, Polity, Doctrine
*September 17, 8:30 – 4:30 PM Basic Bible
*September 18, 8:30 – 4:30 PM Congregational Care and Ethics
*September 19, 8:30 – 4:30 PM Gifts and Calling
*September 20, 8:30 – 4:30 PM Mission and Evangelism
Required Materials & Pre-Coursework:
*History, Polity, Doctrine – Doctrine, Spirit, and Discipline by Kevin Watson, access to the Book of Doctrines and Discipline, and the GMC Catechism (the free download versions for BODD and Catechism are fine!)
