About this Event
This small group workshop is an invitation to spend a couple of hours shaping your own ceramic mug by hand. No pottery wheel. Using simple handbuilding techniques, you’ll learn how to form, refine, and personalize a mug while working directly with clay in a relaxed studio setting.
We’ll explore approachable methods like slab and coil building and shaping, along with simple ways to add handles, texture, and surface details. Each piece will naturally take on the personality of the maker, which is part of the magic of handbuilt ceramics.
The atmosphere is social, easygoing, and beginner friendly. Come with friends, bring a date, or arrive solo and enjoy the quiet satisfaction of making something with your hands.
To keep things festive, fresh juices will be provided for mixing mimosas. Guests are welcome to bring their own champagne or sparkling wine if they’d like to join in (alcohol not provided).
At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave your mug at the studio to be professionally dried, glazed, and kiln fired. Finished pieces will be ready for pickup 4-6 weeks after th workshop. You'll recieve an email.
