Weโre proud to host the first ever Central Region Championships at Fitness Portal Tawa - bringing together athletes from across the Lower North Island and Upper South Island to battle for big lifts, medals, and personal bests.Venue: Fitness Portal Tawa - ๐10 Surrey Street, Tawa
Dates: 27-29 March 2026
Friday: 7pm - 9pm
Saturday: 9am - 4pm (approx.)
Sunday: 9am - 2pm (approx.)

Eligibility: Athletes must be registered to Weightlifting New Zealand.
Medal Eligibility: Athlete's club must be based in the region that they are competing in.
Entry deadline: 9 March
Entries are made through the Weightlifting New Zealand website (calendar section). https://weightlifting.nz/Calendar
In addition to Central Region Championships, weโre also hosting mini championship events inside the weekend:

โข Manawatu Champs
โข Wellington Champs
Entry fee is $50 for Central Champs, with no extra cost to enter the mini championships.
Athletes from clubs in the upper North Island or the lower South Island, can compete as guests.
