Center Stage Jackson is thrilled to produce this musical in the Ruth Day Theatre in Jackson College's Potter Center November 1-3 and 8-10. Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 7pm and Sunday performances at 3pm.
"Fun Home" is a musical adapted by Lisa Kron and Jeanine Tesori from Alison Bechdel's 2006 graphic memoir of the same name. The story chronicles Bechdel's discovery of her own sexuality, her relationship with her closeted gay father, and her attempts to unlock the mysteries surrounding his life. It is told in a series of non-linear vignettes narrated by the adult Alison character. More than just a coming out or coming-of-age story, the musical has a depth of completeness that explores the relationship between children and their parents' secret lives that ultimately exists in every family.
