Breo-Saighead, Brigit, Brighid, Brìg, Brigantia, Saint Brigid: from Celtic folklore to religious iconography, this powerful female figure has come to represent spring, poetry, and fire. We're channeling this dynamic spirit with our Celtic Candlelight Concert featuring Debi Rogers. Teller of tales, musician, actress, teaching artist and master Celtic artist with the North Dakota Council on the Arts, Debi's performance will weave together Irish instruments, stories, songs, and humor.
Debi has explored various cultures while studying in Japan through a Fulbright Award, serving as an artistic ambassador in Iceland, acting/directing in numerous plays and performing in Ireland.
The yoga and tai chi instructor says her earliest memory as a wee child was practicing harping and flying in her basement to become an Irish fairy. Join us in the MMPL Community Room as she tells stories of women who shift into seals, sorrowful tales you might hear at the pub, and lyric ballads of lost loves.
