Obituary:
Teresa L. Douglas, or ‘TW’ as she was known to hundreds and hundreds of families at the Boys & Girls Club of Goshen for 20 years, went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2026, in Port Charlotte, Fl. She was 65 years old.
Teresa was born August 10,1960 in Marion, In to Bruce and Thelma Edwards. She graduated from Oak Hill High School in Converse, In in 1979. Teresa married Paul Watson in Marion on May 8, 1989. They eventually relocated to Goshen. They were married for 26 years until Paul’s death on May 8, 2015. Teresa found love for a second time when she met Terry Douglas. They married on October 1, 2016. Three years later, they relocated to Port Charlotte, Fl. Terry passed away on February 18. 2021.
Following High School graduation, Teresa had various jobs. She found her calling in Goshen when she was hired by the Boys & Girls Club of Goshen in 1997. As Teresa would often say, “My family grew immensely over the next 20 years.” ‘TW ‘became the Heart of the Club. Every family that came through the doors met ‘TW’. Many adults remained friends after their children were done with the Club. Many more children became life-long friends into adulthood. Or, as she said, Family. ‘TW’ said after leaving the Club that her fondest memories were the daily hugs from the 6–18-year-old youth who came through the doors every day. Following retirement, a picture of ‘TW’ was placed in the Welcome Area of the Boys & Girls Club of Goshen.
Teresa was able to enjoy life in retirement. She enjoyed Gardening, Crafts, listening to Classic Rock, and taking trips to the local Comedy Shows. Teresa was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.
Teresa is survived by her two sons Kris (Charity) Watson of Goshen, and Blake Watson of Port Charlotte. She has two granddaughters, one being Rose Quin of Austin, Tx, and a great-granddaughter. Also surviving are her siblings Daniel (Sandra) Edwards of Morris, Il, Roger Edwards (Bobbi Moore) of Lansing, Tn, Kenneth (Betty) Oliver of Marion, Floyd (Melody) Craig of Marion, and Georgia (James) Smithers of Wartburg, Tn.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, and siblings Wanda, Myra, Alice, Connie, Pierre, and Billy.
Per Teresa’s wishes, she was cremated. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 15th of this year at Ryan’s Place in Goshen. More information will be provided on a Facebook Page closer to the date.
