Who is Rumi?
Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi is one of the most beloved Sufi poets and scholars of this century. He lived and taught in Anatolia, Turkey. His life work later became the Mevlevi Order of Sufis, who whirl in the beautiful sema with long white robes and tall wollen hats.
What are Rumi's urs?
Dec 17th is the day that Rumi passed from this world into the next. They say it is his wedding day, or union with the beloved. This day is celebrated all over the world by Sufis, Muslims and peoples of many faiths.
Are children welcome at the celebration?
Children are always welcome on the path. It is expected that the parents will look after the children and attend to their needs.
