Celebrate Print: From Original Art to Digital Capture
About this Event
Celebrate Print: From Original Art to Digital Capture
Join Celebrate Print for a behind-the-scenes open house and live demonstration of professional high-resolution art scanning. You'll see how original artwork can be scanned, hands-free, on the Cruse CS-185 Synchrontable 4.0 at resolutions as high as 1,200 ppi and 48-bit resolution (RGB). This scanner can also capture the artwork's surface relief which can then be recreated in a 2.5D print. Then you'll see how the resulting digital files are prepared for high quality printing reproduction to create insurance copies, archival copies, fine art prints, posters, and other printed products.
There will be time for questions and conversation following the demonstration.
Artists, photographers, designers, students, educators, print professionals, and anyone curious about the process are welcome.
Admission is free, but advance registration is required. Space is limited.
Bring Something to Scan! Attendees are invited to bring a piece of original artwork. Depending on attendance and available time, selected pieces will be scanned during the open house.
