Join us for an exciting day to celebrate the history of the 1st Girl Scout National Senior Roundup at the GSSEM Council Museum. This one-day event is open to everyone! Our Council Museum will host displays of event photos, memorabilia, and scrapbooks. There will be an outdoor, mini-Roundup tent area. Everyone can participate in the re-creation of 1956 historic hands-on badge activities. You can add your talent to a community art piece, make crafts, and participate in songs, games and more! Event fee will include all activities, craft supplies, commemorative patch, and light lunch. Extra food items and additional event items will be available for purchase.
Tickets are required.
There are three event time slots to choose from:
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
3:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Want to extend the fun? Visit the site of the 1956 Roundup at the Highland State Recreation Area, less than four miles from the. We encourage participants to drive on their own vehicle to our rental pavilion site where you can then take a short hike to view the Roundup's historical marker. You will need a Recreation Passport to enter the state park but they can be purchased at the park for $20 per car.
Everyone will receive a confirmation letter with final details at least one week in advance.
Registration Deadline is July 31, 2026 or until event capacity.

Q. Who can attend this event?
A. This event is open to all current girl and adult members, their families, and guests. We welcome participants from any of the four National Senior Roundup events to celebrate with us.
Q. Where was the site of the 1956 National Senior Roundup?
A. The 1956 Roundup took place at the Highland State Recreation Area, less than 4 miles from our Council Museum. You may decide on your own to visit the site to see a historic marker in the park.
Q. What is the additional cost to visit the original Roundup site at the Highland State Recreation Area?
A. No fee if you already have the Michigan Recreation Passport tag on your license plate. You can purchase a Recreation Passport tag at the park for $20.
Q. What if it rains?
A. The event will take place rain or shine. Many of our activities will take place inside the Service Center, but we look forward to our outdoor activities! Dress for the weather.
