Born with a severe facial difference, a young man confronts overwhelming obstacles preventing him from living an ordinary life. Refusing to be limited by his appearance, he defies medical advice and societal prejudices as he attempts to become a world-champion wrestler.
After spending nearly two decades building a career as a film editor, Tanner Christensen made the jump to the director’s chair with his debut feature documentary, "Standout: The Ben Kjar Story." As an editor, Christensen contributed to a variety of projects, including feature films, commercials, short films, and television productions—most notably a hit Netflix documentary series, as well as the 2015 Sundance Film Festival selection 'Don Verdean.'
