See the Utah Premiere of the new featurette on the ever changing Lake Powell: Diego Riley and Will Buckley's "What the River Knows" at the Frontier Homestead, 635 N Main, Cedar City, Utah.Fri, Sep 26th, 7:50 PM and Sat, Sep 27th, 8:05 PM. (34 min.)
Narrated by actor Ron Perlman.
A lost Eden drowned under Lake Powell re-emerges, revealing the follies of the past and a new way forward for the Colorado River. "What The River Knows" is an advocacy short-doc that explores this unique inflection point in a centuries-long history: at the same time that we are met with the need to redesign our systems of water management in the west, we are presented with the opportunity to restore one of the most stunning landscapes on the planet.
Diego Riley and Will Buckley are longtime creative partners and filmmakers with a deep love for the natural world, a shared fascination with human-impact systems, and a commitment to socially impactful storytelling. Diego is a Cuban-American writer and director raised across four countries, primarily in Latin America; Will, a photographer and filmmaker shaped by the vast western landscapes of Wyoming. With experience spanning documentaries, sketch comedy, story-driven commercials, music videos, and even United Nations campaigns, Diego and Will draw out the emotional heart of a story and bring it to life with a strong and intentional visual style.
