CCEP 4 - 10-11 October 2026 - Introduction to Foot, Gath & Orthotics

Posture, both static and kinetic, is discussed and demonstrated. Primary and secondary shock absorbers of gait are related to their major muscle and nerve root. Neutral position of the foot is defined and demonstrated when it is pathomechanical and truly neutral. Structural deformities such as leg length, rear foot and forefoot varus/valgus, functional hallucislimitus (FHL), equinus, and others will be covered.

Orthotics for common foot disorders and posture problems will be demonstrated. Learn how to cast a foot in true neutral position non-weight bearing. Learn why the foundation of the spine truly starts at the ground. Learn the difference between functional and accommodative foot orthoses, and learn to make functional orthoses (students will be making functional orthoses in this class for themselves).

The Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (C.C.E.P.) seminar series offered by the Council on Extremity Adjusting (CEA) provides chiropractors with practical, objective-based solutions for treating the body's extremities. Through a comprehensive curriculum comprising seven seminars, participants gain expertise in diagnosing and treating extremity-related issues by understanding the biomechanical functions of each joint and muscle.

The seminars offer a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on training, allowing participants to grasp the complexities of extremity care while honing their adjustment skills. Unlike traditional chiropractic education, which often focuses solely on spinal nerve interference, the C.C.E.P. program emphasizes the significant impact of nerve interference on the extremities and provides simple yet effective methods for diagnosis and treatment.

Successful completion of all seven courses is mandatory to be eligible for the final practical evaluation. This rigorous assessment process ensures that participants have a comprehensive understanding of extremity care and are proficient in applying the knowledge and skills learned during the seminars.

By setting clear requirements for eligibility to sit for the practical exam, the CEA maintains high standards of education and proficiency among certified C.C.E.P.s, contributing to the credibility and effectiveness of the program.

Speaker

Dr. Dan Prince, DC, CCEP

Dr. Daniel J. Prince has a thriving family practice in Edmond Oklahoma. When he is not caring for USA athletes, he and his wife Erin enjoy the outdoors with their five active children. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Council on Extremity Adjusting and presents curriculum designed for the busy practitioner to learn on the weekend and implement on Monday.

Dr. Prince is a contributing author to the third edition of the Pediatric Chiropractic textbook which hits bookstores in the fall of 2021. Readers and seminar attendees will learn about managing the most common injuries including those to the foot, ankle, knee, shoulder, elbow and wrist. You will learn how to perform a detailed history, thorough exam, differential diagnosis, x-ray interpretation and short-lever adjusting. Every condition concludes with a discussion regarding case management including treatment, referral, rehabilitation, and safe return-to-play criteria.
