Music of Brahms, Ravel, Bartok, Schumann, Holst, & Elgar.
Jelly D'Aranyi was a star violinist of the early twentieth century and inspired Ravel, Bartok, Vaughan Williams, Elgar and Holst. She also was part of an intriguing story around the discovery of the Schumann Violin Concerto.
Mother-daughter team of Cathy (Minnesota Orchestra) and Clara (Grand Rapids Symphony) play solo and duo works with pianist Mary Jo Gothman by a variety of the composers Jelly D'Aranyi interacted with, and intersperse music with the story of her life.
