A combination of two regular walks. Firstly a gentle slow paced circular walk of approximately 0.9 of a mile on flat, solid pavement around the grounds and surrounds of Norwich Anglican Cathedral. This is immediately followed by a 1.4 mile walk through the Ethelred Gate, around the small but perfectly formed Stuart Gardens and along the riverside before returning through Bishopgate to the Cathedral Close. The walks are designed to introduce people to Wellbeing Walks. Both walks will be lead by trained leaders who also assist the walkers and with a back marker who will stay with the last walker. You can walk at your own pace, engage others in conversation or just admire the beautiful surroundings. You have a choice of either or both walks.
At the end of the first walk you are welcome to join walkers for refreshments in the cathedral Refectory or one of the many nearby establishments or continue with other walkers for the second walk which follows on as soon as the last walker returns from the first. After the second walk, apart from the Refectory, several walkers will repair to the nearby Glass House. Attractions of this, apart from the beer prices and good company, include good food bottomless tea and coffee.
The combined walks are around 2.4 miles and will take around 45 minutes at a your own pace pace. Suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs, children and dogs on leads, If you don't fancy the walks come and join us for a chat anyway.
For those interested the picture is of an AUD you will pass on our walk.
