In this series, we will explore how to create, develop, and complete photographic projects. You will learn strategies and practical tools to build strong artistic concepts and translate them into visually coherent bodies of work. The goal is to support you in making the transition from individual creative images to a fully developed art photography project with conceptual clarity and visual depth.
Through guided assignments and workshops, you will develop and shoot your own projects using art photography as the primary framework. However, the methods taught are broadly applicable to any advanced photographic genre—including editorial, fashion, studio, documentary, or even academic and research-based projects. The focus is on the entire process: from the initial idea to a finished, presentable result.
This series is aimed at photographers who have completed the full Catch the Light series or who already possess a strong technical and artistic foundation. Participants are expected to be ready to explore concepts, personal identity, authorship, and the development of a personal visual style.
The course is technically neutral, welcoming digital, analog, and alternative photographers alike.
Course Structure
10 interactive classes / workshops
Small group format (maximum 6 participants) to allow for in-depth discussion and feedback
Projects are semi-individually guided, with personalized coaching
Participants will typically complete up to 5 proposed projects, each with a different conceptual focus
A syllabus text is included with enrollment
