Looking for Mr. Rogers brings the turbulent, vibrant first 50 years of Castlemilk to the big screen. Spanning from the 1940s to 1996, this film charts the estate's journey from a hopeful post-war planner’s dream to the reality of the "Big Flit"—where escapees from inner-city slums rejoiced at the fresh air and indoor toilets.

Despite being the size of a large town, the estate was built without basic amenities, and the honeymoon didn’t last. Early residents soon found themselves stranded in "Siberia," relying on expensive mobile vans for groceries ... you couldn't even get a drink. The film captures the estate's ups and downs over the decades. Weaving together rich archives from Glasgow City Council, the Scottish Film Archive, TV news broadcasts, family home movies and photos, and personal interviews with experts and the locals who lived through the eras.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, this landmark documentary has been newly redigitised for clearer sound and image quality.
