HARD LABOUR Tell Me About It - Human Library®
About this Event
Imagine entering a library where readers can borrow human beings serving as open books. Then select a book stack that specialises in sex work.
"Why did you get into sex work?""Do you hate your clients?""Have you ever fallen for a client?""Do you have a union?"
Are there questions you've always wanted to ask sex workers? Never had the chance?
Tell Me About It creates a space for direct one-to-one conversations with people who habitually find others (filmmakers, politicians, journalists) speaking on their behalf…
Developed over several months, the project places consent, autonomy and mutual respect at its heart. Readers and Books are supported through a carefully facilitated process that prioritises psychological safety, boundaries and meaningful dialogue.
Created in partnership between , and the , the project brings together a diverse collection of Books reflecting the many realities, identities and experiences that exist within sex work. Rather than presenting a single narrative, Tell Me About It invites readers to encounter the richness and complexity of peoples’ lives through respectful conversation, challenging assumptions and sharing space for greater understanding.
