Casting Workshop with Sarah Leung (Casting Director) - Afternoon session

The Actors' Guild are launching in Manchester and we have partnered with them to offer you exclusive access to their first series of workshops!

Join acclaimed Casting Director Sarah Leung for a workshop designed to give actors a genuine insight into the casting process and what today's industry professionals are looking for in auditions and self-tapes.

Throughout the 3 hours, actors will work on prepared scenes in a professional, supportive environment, receiving individual feedback and direction, with a focus on text work, choice-making, and bringing truthful, confident performances into the room. The workshop will also include a Q&A offering insight into casting expectations, industry standards, and professional development for screen and stage. Footage will be provided afterwards for actors to keep.

Bio:

Sarah is a member of the CDG and BAFTA. Based both in London and Manchester. Sarah has gained over 10 years experience in Theatre, Musical Theatre, Film and TV and is now a freelance casting director focusing on film and TV. Sarah was born and raised in Manchester, coming from a performing background at an early age. Sarah began her career in film as assistant to producer Larry Franco on "Batman Begins" for Warner Bros.

Sarah moved immediately into casting, working in film. She then spent the next few years, working with up and coming British filmmakers before turning her sights to also gaining experience in the fast-paced world of television casting, assisting on well-known series for the BBC and ITV.

She has worked in assistant casting on major productions including Children of Men, V for Vendetta, Luther, Law & Order: UK, Waterloo Road, and Inside Men, and as a Casting Director on projects such as Strangeways Here We Come, Emily and the Magical Journey, Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies, and a range of independent features, shorts, and emerging filmmaker projects. She has also cast extensively in theatre, including West End and UK touring productions such as Miss Saigon, Unfortunate, To Wong Foo, George Takei’s Allegiance, and The Lion King
