Casing of the Colors

It is with pride, respect, and deep reflection that we share this news with our 1-40th Cavalry family.
On July 16, 2026, at 1100, 1-40th Cavalry will case its colors at JBER, Alaska.
For so many of us, 1-40th CAV was more than a unit. It was a brotherhood. It was shared service, sacrifice, hardship, laughter, loss, and a bond that does not fade with time.
As the colors are cased, we honor every trooper who served, every family who stood beside them, and every Gold Star family whose sacrifice will never be forgotten. We also recognize the proud history and lasting legacy of 1-40th CAV and all those who helped write it.
We will share additional details about the ceremony as they become available here on this page.
