Carving Clinic-Alpine

Description: Technical Skills, Full Day, On snow

Want to tip, grip, and rip? Interested on how to “get low” in the turn? Build forces, build rhythm, carry energy?  This clinic will focus on dynamic, high performance skiing/riding on intermediate to advanced groomed terrain

Experiences:

• The clinic leader and participants will collaborate to determine a relevant goal related to Carving
• Clinic leader will demonstrate round turns that rely on ski/board shape and design
• Clinic leader will emphasize the skill blend required to begin a turn with grip, create highest edge angles and pressure thru shaping phase, as well decreasing angles and pressure thru finish phase
• Feedback will be provided to adjust specific performance
• Participants will get practice time to implement feedback
• Reflection on day’s goal and what movement changes contribute to accurate carving 

Learning Outcome:

By clinic end, participants will have a better ability to:

• Link a series of short to medium radius carved turns 
• Identify and discuss the movement changes that contribute to successful performance of Carved turns
