About this Event

Don't Miss CARRIE BOYLE at Books Inc. in the Marina!

About the book: The Mindful Glass: Hands-On Wine Lab is a playful, practical intro to wine appreciation for regular people who love wine but don’t want a stuffy textbook to enjoy it. Part wine guide for beginners, part activity book for adults, this interactive workbook turns every sip into a sensory adventure.
Inside, you’ll discover:
Simple tasting exercises that help you understand wine—not memorize it
Aroma and flavor activities inspired by how professionals build their palates
Fun food & wine pairing experiments (no rules, just delicious results!)
Creative prompts, challenges, and at-home wine projects you can explore solo or with friends
Whether you're looking for an intro to wine book for yourself or unique gifts for wine drinkers, this hands-on approach makes wine simple, joyful, and deeply personal. Build confidence, train your palate, and explore wine in a way that feels welcoming—not overwhelming.
Perfect for:
✨ Wine beginners and lifelong enthusiasts
✨ At-home tastings, book clubs, and girls’ nights
✨ Anyone who wants a richer, more mindful relationship with wine
If you’ve ever wished for a wine education for beginners that felt like play instead of pressure, you’ve found it. Pour a glass, grab a pen, and let curiosity lead the way.
Carrie Boyle has over 20 years in the wine industry.  She has been a general manager for a national wine & spirits retailer, owned and operated her own fine wine shops, and is a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW).  She has judged wine competitions around Northern California, made her own wine, designed and taught classes, orchestrated large wine events and traveled to wine regions all over California, Oregon, Washington, Australia, New Zealand, France (Burgundy, Rhone Valley, Bordeaux, Champagne, and Beaujolais), and Spain (Rioja and Ribera del Duero).  Today, she acts as a wine consultant for corporate team building events, acts as a broker representative for hand-crafted wineries from various corners of the world, and actively promotes Sacramento as a wine vacation destination.
