Caroline Keane brings her new live show to The Crane Bar, Galway, on October 16th to launch her second solo album, Rise.
The concert will feature music from the new record alongside stories about the writing, recording, and collaborations behind the album. The performance is rooted in traditional Irish music on concertina, presented in an intimate live setting.
Caroline Keane is recognised as one of the leading contemporary concertina players in Irish traditional music. Her work combines traditional music with original composition and collaborative projects across performance, recording, and education.
She has toured throughout Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand, performing at festivals and cultural events and collaborating with artists including The Chieftains, Andy Irvine, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Gerry O’Beirne and Steve Cooney.
Caroline was awarded Female Musician of the Year at the ASLR Celtic Music Awards in 2020 and has been nominated for Musician of the Year at the RTÉ Folk Awards. Originally from Limerick and now based in the West Kerry Gaeltacht, she works internationally as a performer, educator, and lecturer.
