About this Event

The philharmonic’s season will conclude on May 2nd with a performance of Benjamin Britten’s powerful War Requiem at Heinz Hall. A monumental musical statement of pacifism, the War Requiem will involve 140+ students from the school of music in collaboration with multiple community partners. The CMU Choir, prepared by Director of Choral Studies, Mark Trawka, will combine forces with the Pittsburgh Mendelssohn Choir, under the direction of Daniel Singer, and the Pittsburgh Youth Chorus, under the direction of Shawn Funk. The full philharmonic will be onstage along with a chamber orchestra of instrumental soloists.
