About this Event

A 70-year tradition continues as the CMU Philharmonic and CMU Choir join forces for the annual noon-time concert in the College of Fine Arts “Great Hall” on Friday, December 4th. Guest conductor James Blachley will lead a program that includes Francis Poulenc’s Gloria, Arvo Pärt’s Sequenza, and the world premiere of the orchestral version of Hodie Christus Natus Est, composed by the school of music’s Vera Heinz Chair of Composition, Professor Nancy Galbraith. This program will also be presented on Thursday, December 3rd at Carnegie Music Hall with the addition of Tchaikovsky’s iconic Symphony No. 4.
