About this Event
We are excited to invite all Carers to this year’s Carers Rights Day at the welcoming and accessible TouchBase Pears in Selly Oak. This special event is designed to empower and support you by providing valuable information about your rights as a Carer, as well as practical advice tailored to your unique needs.
Throughout the day, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in engaging workshops that focus on key aspects of caring, such as:
- Hospital discharge planning
- Accessing financial support
- Understanding legal rights with our partner solicitors, Wildings.
Speakers
Our expert speakers include Birmingham City Council launching the Carers Strategy, University Hospitals Birmingham talking about hospital discharge and more! There will be Birmingham Carers Hub partners sharing their knowledge and support services, and MORE to help you feel more informed and confident in your role.
In addition to the workshops and talks, we’ll be offering support sessions where you can connect with other Carers, share experiences, and receive one-on-one advice from local service providers. This is a chance to build your network, find out what help is available to you, and ask questions in a friendly and relaxed environment.
Whether you’re a new Carer or have been caring for a long time, this event aims to ensure you leave feeling informed, supported, and empowered.
More details, including the full programme of activities, will be shared soon! As always, this is a free event.
Free tea and coffee available throughout the day.
