Career Tales: The Stories We Carry

Every career is shaped by stories.

The stories we tell ourselves influence our confidence. The stories we share shape how others see us. And the stories we help our students uncover can transform the opportunities available to them.

Career Tales is an award-nominated educational innovation that has been developed to help educators use storytelling to build confidence, strengthen employability and create more meaningful learning experiences.

During this interactive day, you will experience the Career Tales methodology for yourself, working alongside colleagues from higher education, careers and employability to explore how storytelling can become a powerful tool in teaching, coaching and student development.

Whether you are an academic, careers professional, educational developer or student experience practitioner, you will leave with practical ideas, resources and techniques that you can immediately apply in your own context.

Throughout the day you will:

• Discover the Career Tales storytelling methodology.
• Take part in guided storytelling and creative reflection activities.
• Create your own visual storyboard.
• Explore how storytelling can build confidence, identity and employability.
• Share ideas with colleagues from across the sector.
• Leave with practical resources to use with your own students.

No artistic experience is required—just curiosity and a willingness to explore the stories that shape who we are.
