Career Change to Software Engineering: Alumni Q&A

A patisserie owner, a video editor and a delivery driver walk into tech. Hear how they did it and ask them anything.
About this Event

Meet 3 career changers who went from patisserie, video editing and delivery driving to software engineering. Hear how they broke into tech and ask them anything.

Ever wondered if you can actually change careers into tech without a degree? These three did it, and they’re here to tell you exactly how.

Join us for a live Q&A with Holberton School Australia graduates who came from completely different worlds:

Mel, ex-patisserie owner, now Junior Software Engineer at Visibuild
Andrew, ex-video editor, now Graduate Software Engineer at Eightcap
Dylan, ex-delivery driver, now Software Engineer at Reece

An honest conversation about what it’s really like to start over, what the 9 months at Holberton actually looks like, how they landed their roles, and what they’re building now. Dylan is three years into his engineering career, so it’s also a chance to ask what happens after you land that first job.

This session is for anyone considering a career change to software engineering, whether you’re stuck in a job that’s going nowhere or just curious about what the path looks like.
